In 35 years of practice in a private dental office, I have seen a lack in services for people who are no longer mobile or find it too difficult to get around. People who have always had the health of their teeth and mouth at heart. As it has always been extremely important for me to offer meticulous, attentive, professional care, adapted to the values, realities and needs of each person, this situation has always challenged me.  

Since I started practicing, there has always been talk about the possibility of autonomy of practice for dental hygienists. I was waiting for this day, believe me... Well, in September 2020, the law on the reform of the professions was adopted by the National Assembly. Dental hygienists can now work autonomously and independently!

At last! I could see all the new opportunities to practice.

It was the kick I needed to set up the very first home dental hygiene service in the Eastern Townships.

This is my way of allowing greater accessibility to care. I want to reach people who for whatever reasons do not go to the dentist office.

Here are a few exemples : 

- people with loss of autonomy
- in a residence for the elderly
- with reduced mobility, for whom travel is not impossible, but difficult
- people with phobia, anxiety, insecurity and who will feel reassured to be treated at home, in their environment
- Diseases such as Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, cancer, degenerative diseases in general, all these conditions which require sustained medical attention and which limit the possibility of having a dental follow-up
- Any disability
- People who have an ultra busy schedule where it is difficult to free themselves from work or find time to take care of themselves and their health
- People who, due to their oral health condition, require or feel the need to have more than one dental cleaning per year 

There are as many examples and needs as there are individuals. 

I want to be there for all these people.
